Natural Healing for Arthritis Bone Pain

Conventional treatments for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have many problems, both of safety and effectiveness.  Many natural treatments have been studied, and while the response to these treatments is variable and often unpredictable, some patients have shown dramatic improvement or even complete and long-lasting relief.  Not to mention, there aren’t all of the side effects.

Because of the limitations and risks of conventional therapy, many patients and practitioners are seeking other ways to treat the disease.

Symptoms:

Morning stiffness, painful joints, restricted range of motion, bone spurs, and in some cases deformity of the joints.  There are over 100 different types of arthritis and it affects over 80% of those over the age 50.

Testing for Causes:

·        Hormone analysis by slaiva, urine or blood for estrogen, progesterone, DHEA, cortisol, IGF-1, and thyroid panel hormonal imbalances

·        Fasting Insulin levels – blood test

·        Food allergies testing

·        Gluten intolerance or celiac disease testing (food allergy tests)

·        Intestinal permeability – urine test

·        Stool analysis for bacteria balance, parasites, candida, and food breakdown

·        Vitamin and mineral analysis – blood or urine tests

·        Toxic metal tests – hair or urine analysis

Medical Prescriptions:

Analgesics/NSAID’s (ex: Tylenol, Aspirin, Celebrex): these block enzymes that produce pain and inflammation promoting chemicals for quick pain relief.  Potential side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, rash, dizziness, and drowsiness.  Major cautions are liver damage, kidney failure, prolonged bleeding, and ulcers.  Alcohol must be avoided.  Aspirin shouldn’t be given to children or teenagers with  a virus like cold, flu or chicken pox.  They also deplete vitamin C and folic acid.

Tramadol (Ultram): this drug binds the receptors of the brain to reduce the pain messages.  These reduce the pain without the risk of stomach erosion and bleeding as found in NSAID’s.  Potential side effects are vomiting, constipation, headach, dizziness or drowsiness, sweating, itching, dry mouth, rash, and visual changes.  Major cautions are seizures and it needs to be weaned off of.

Codeine: this is a narcotic that reduces pain.  Potential side effects are nervousness, blurred vision, constipation, vomiting, dry mouth, dizziness or drowsiness, headache and sweating. Major cautions are light-headeness, confusion, and fainting.

COX-2 Inhibitor (Celebrex): this drug blocks pain and inflammation hormones.  It is a stronger pain killer than NSAID’s.  Potential side effects are insomnia, headache, abdominal pain, heartburn, diarrhea, nausea, and flatulence.  Major cautions are fainting, kidney failure, heart failure, deafness, stomach ulcers, blurred vision, anxiety, weight gain, light sensitivity, flu-like symptoms, drowsiness, weakness.  It also depletes potassium and folic acid.

The Natural Doctors’ Prescriptions:

Eat a fruit and vegetable diet as the antioxidants help osteoarthritis.  Fats in fish and nuts help decrease the inflammation in the joints.  Reduce inflammation contributing foods like cow’s milk, caffeine, sugars, red meat and alcohol.  Swimming is a great low impact exercise for those with arthritis.

Glucosamine: Several studies have shown this to reduce symptoms of osteoarthritis, especially in the knees.

Dosage: 3,000 mg twice a day for 12 weeks, then reduce to 2,000 mg twice a day.

Dosage: 2,000 mg of combined EPA and DHA as listed on the label of the product.

Arthritis can be a severe and sometimes crippling disease. Because of the limitations and risks of conventional therapy, many patients and practitioners are seeking other ways to treat the disease.  While not everyone responds to these approaches, many patients do improve, and some have experienced complete and long-lasting relief.  And of course, these natural treatments don’t have the side effects.

These natural prescriptions have been tested and are effective on their own, but sometimes they are even more powerful when combined into formulas.  You can check out the natural formulas by clicking on the links below.

Natural Formulas:

Joint Advance is offering a free trial.

Eazol may be the best if money isn’t a problem.
